The Scotland Funds launched in Canada on 28th November in Toronto and 30th November in Vancouver.
The Toronto event took place at the National Club in the financial district and was jointly organised with Globalscot.
Over 100 guests heard the keynote speech by the Rt Hon George Reid MSP Presiding officer of the Scottish Parliament.
Guests represented the leading Scots Canadian organisations in the city and numerous prominent corporate figures, including Globalscots also attended.
Dick Mungin, CEO of The Scotland Funds, spoke on the subject of the recently completed report, the Scots in Canada, which for the very first time draws a detailed demographic picture of the Scots diaspora community in Canada.
Two days later at the Vancouver Club the Presiding Officer, George Reid, addressed a reception for over 100 people with Harry McGrath, Canada Advisor of The Scotland Funds.
Later that evening Joseph Iannicelli, President and CEO of Standard Life Canada, and Dick Mungin hosted a dinner at the Pan Pacific Hotel celebrating the launch of The Scotland Funds in Vancouver. Both the UK consul and George Reid MSP addressed guests at the event who comprised many key figures in the Scots Canadian community in this city with 312,000 people of Scots descent.
